Travel Drawings from Sketching in El Salvador

Though it was only in El Salvador in 2010 that I began posting hitchhiking travel stories on Velabas, I had been creating travel drawings and sketches since Mexico. Perhaps because of the small size of the Central American country, or because of the tropical heat, I did not make many drawings in El Salvador. Nonetheless, here are 3 from my booklet.

Travel drawing from San Salvador, El Salvador — For 5 days I stayed in San Salvador, a city of black smoke and market sprawl. I made this travel drawing, blasted regularly by tailpipe exhuast.

Sketching in El Salvador beaches — Sketching the black sands of the El Salvadoran coast. These restaurants were built into the surf, and wood stoves burned.

Travel drawing of El Mozote, El Salvador — In the mountains of El Salvador, you find El Mozote. This is where thousands of farmers and their families were massacred during the civil war.
